Northend Youth 1 Glendowan 2    Saturday 2nd December 2017

In a game between two evenly matched sides Northend started off positively and for much of the first half enjoyed the majority of possession. Eventually consistent Northend pressure was rewarded when a great ball down the right wing by Timmy Gillan released Conal McAuley and his cross found Carter Reid at the back post who slotted home. Further chances came and went and just before half time a swift Glendowan counterattack led to the equaliser. Half time 1-1

After the break Northend again took control with Pearse McAuley and Harry Conon controlling the midfield area and Paidin Mitchell lively in the lone attacker's role. However, as the second half progressed Northend tired and another Glendowan counterattack eventually sealed the winner for them. Northend lay siege to the Glendowan goal in the final 5 minutes but they could not get past a resolute defence and inspired goalkeeper. Full time 1-2

Northend United 2 Hillsborough 4      Saturday 25th November 2017

It was back to Lisburn league action on Saturday and after an open first 10 minutes Hillsborough took the lead when their striker capitalised on a mix up in defence and slotted home. Northend continued to press and quickly found an equaliser when Conall McAuley picked up the ball on the right hand side and found Sean McDermott, whose first time strike found the bottom corner. Northend went in search for another and were rewarded when Goalkeeper Harry Connon's quick thinking released Carter Reid down the left. His powerful run and cross met the head of striker Euan Pirie, who neatly tucked away the finish into the top corner. Northend were dealt a blow on the stroke of half time when a ball over the top of the defence found the feet of the Hillsborough striker who made no mistake from close range. Half time 2-2

The second half was an open affair, with Northend enjoying the bulk of possession. Although hitting the woodwork on a number of occasions, notably through Conall and Pearse McAuley, Northend were unable to add to their tally. Hillsborough capitalised on Northend's endeavours to find the winner and found themselves in front late on, breaching the defence and twice finding the back of the net. Full time 2-4

Northend United 1 Doyle YC 2 Shield   Saturday 11th November 2017

Northend faced Doyle YC in the quarter final in the Lisburn shield and were slow to start with Doyle on top during the early exchanges prompting Thomas Hasson in the Northend goal to make a number of good saves. Northend soon got a grip on the game with captain Pearse McAuley starting to find his range, finding Conall McAuley on the right-hand side who squared the ball for Euan Pirie who's close range shot was well saved by the Doyle goalkeeper. Northend took the lead when Conall McAuley beat the offside trap and was found by a pinpoint Pearse McAuley through ball and was upended in the penalty box. The felled midfielder dusted himself down and confidently slotted away the resulting spot kick. Doyle's direct style caused confusion in the Northend box soon after and the scores were equal when the Belfast side found the back of the net from close range. Shortly before half time Doyle were in front when a ball was played across the Northend box, finding the Doyle striker who finished well into the bottom corner leaving Thomas Hasson no chance. Half time 1-2

The second half was one way traffic for the Ballymena side in their efforts to find the equaliser. A number of chances came and went with Carter Reid and Daniel Patterson having the pick of the chances. The hard-hitting Belfast side held out in the end to progress to the next round of the shield. Full time 1-2

Northend United 6 Lurgan Celtic 2  Lisburn Shield     Saturday 4th November 2017

Following the disappointment of being knocked out of the NIBFA Cup last week Northend got back to winning ways in the Lisburn Shield second round on Saturday. A number of goals from Euan Pirie, Timmy Gillan, Sean McDermott, Conall McAuley, Harry Connon and Carter Reid sent Northend on their way into the third round.
